The boys looked flat... and tired! All this fuss about fixture congestion not being a problem is looking more and more suspect as the games keep piling up. PSV netted a wonder strike in the 63rd minute and that was about it. They, as anticipated, loaded up in our box and defended all night so the chances were few and those we got were thwarted by superb goalkeeping. Henry is clearly lacking confidence and we simply could not get in our "Arsenal flow". 1 - nil down with leg 2 in London in a fortnight... we have shown amazing spirit when our backs are up against it, so here we go! Not reaching the Q-Finals would be a big downer... C'mon you Gunners...gotta believe baby!
I think they will come out firing in Leg 2 and go through!
The Carling Cup Final Sunday in Wales vs Chelski, FA Cup replay Wednesday at Blackburn, League game on the weekend vs Reading... did I mention the fixture congestion?
Anyhoo... I want to take a looksie at some postmodern fiction stuff... thinking of starting off with Thomas Pynchon's classic Gravity's Rainbow and David Foster Wallace's 1100 page epic Infinite Jest. Each has been hailed as "one of the finest American novels ever written"... or "a waste of paper". Me thinks I will troll the local half-priced book mart and seek them out, with the seemingly love / hate critiques, they surely have a few on hand.
I am going to try and broaden the content as well as dedicate more syllables (i.e. time) to this wee blogamajig very soon... so be aware afraid.
bwb out.
